More Robberies in Sector 3
Further to the January 29 incident in Currie Rd, there was a spate of burglaries in Norfolk St on the early hours of Saturday 19th February as this householder reports:
"During the early hours of this morning, some thieves lifted our gate off its rails (and its a heavy gate), came into our driveway and stole the radio from our bakkie and sunglasses from the other car. | Criminals Don't Like Cameras

The funny thing is that the road has
a Chubb street guard but this didn't deter them. We stopped contributing
to
street patrol for about 3 months now - we were contributing for 3 years
before that and there were no break in's - the moment we stopped the
word got
out we were not contributing. We were just getting irritated with Chubb
street
patrol as the guards were often asleep at night and reading the paper
the
whole day and chatting with the maids and other staff in the road.
Is our solution now to employ our own guard at night or start contributing again to the street patrol again?
The same gang attempted to burgle the house next door. It is thought that they entered the properties from other houses between Norfolk and Rorvick (and Musgrave and Currie).
The community is urged to install electric fencing and cameras, they're not as expensive as you think.
